ESPN Acquires the Rights to the Last Eight UEFA EURO 2012 Qualifying Playoffs
ESPN, the exclusive home in the United States in all languages for UEFA EURO 2012, announced today it has acquired the rights to the eight remaining EURO 2012 qualifying playoffs scheduled for Friday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 15.
The fixtures are set as the action kicks off on Friday, and ESPN will have full coverage across its platforms for the prestigious international soccer championship. ESPN3 will carry all eight matches live from both the 1st and 2nd Legs on Friday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 15 with English commentary. ESPN Deportes will provide live coverage of the Bosnia vs. Portugal 1st and 2nd Legs, and the 2nd leg of the Croatia vs. Turkey match. The Spanish-language network will carry the rest of the matches on delayed.
The playoffs will qualify four teams for the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, which will be carried across ESPN platforms from June 8 - July 1, 2012 live from Poland and Ukraine. ESPN will deliver all 31 matches live, featuring the top-16 European national teams across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Radio, ESPN Deportes Radio, WatchESPN, ESPN.com, ESPNsoccernet.com, ESPNdeportes.com and more.
