Jim Gaiero
Motorsports Producer
Jim Gaiero joined ESPN upon his graduation from college in 1995 and now serves as a motorsports producer. Gaiero is lead producer for many of ESPN’s telecasts of NASCAR Nationwide Series races and works as pit producer on NASCAR Sprint Cup telecasts.
Gaiero has worked on ESPN’s coverage of NASCAR since the sport returned to the network in 2007, first as producer of highlights, flashbacks and replays and then as pit producer. During the same period, he also worked as a remote graphic playback producer and produced college basketball games for ESPN and ESPNU.
When he started at ESPN, Gaiero worked as a clips production assistant on Baseball Tonight, and then from 1996-1998 was a studio production assistant, preparing highlights, teases, bumps and features for SportsCenter, College GameDay and Baseball Tonight. He was promoted to associate producer for studio and worked on features for Outside the Lines, SportsCenter and College GameDay from 1998-2002, then as associate producer for event production and produced features and teases for X Games, Winter X and the NFL Draft. He also produced graphics for college football, Great Outdoor Games, Bassmaster Classic and X Games.
He won a Sports Emmy in 2004 for “Outstanding Live Event Turnaround” while working on the Winter X Games. He is a graduate of Syracuse University.
