David Faitelson

After nearly two decades of covering sports on television in Mexico, renowned sports journalist David Faitelson joined ESPN May 2007 as an analyst, field reporter and host for a variety of studio shows for ESPN Deportes in the U.S. and ESPN in Latin America.
At ESPN, Faitelson brings his considerable talent across various platforms, including television, radio, online and print. He serves as analyst on studio shows Cronómetro, Fútbol Picante, and Béisbol Esta Noche. He also serves as a regular contributor on SportsCenter, where he covers soccer, baseball and boxing. In addition to his television commitment, Faitelson co-anchors ESPN Deportes Radio’s talk show Raza Deportiva, is a regular contributor to ESPN Radio Formula in Mexico and is a contributor to ESPNdeportes.com and ESPN Deportes La Revista.
This year, he will join ESPN Deportes and ESPN International’s news and information commentator team traveling to South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He will co-host, from ESPN’s studios at Nelson Mandela Square, daily live editions of Cronómetro, ESPN’s Spanish-language program modeled after Pardon the Interruption. In addition to his duties with Cronómetro, Failteson will focus primarily on providing comprehensive multiplatform news and info coverage of Mexican national team for TV, radio, online and mobile.
Known for his hard-hitting reporting style, Faitelson has covered six FIFA World Cups consecutively – (Mexico 1986, Italy 1990, United States 1994, France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002, Germany 2006).
Prior to his move to ESPN, Faitelson spent 22 years at TV Azteca where he was the host of one of the top sports news and information programs in Mexico—Los Protagonistas. Faitelson has covered every FIFA World Cup since 1986 all of the summer Olympics since 1988.
In addition to his television work, he has also worked as a reporter for top newspapers such as El Excelsior and El Heraldo de Mexico and as a sports radio talent at networks Grupo Acir, Radio Red and La Sociedad Deportiva.
