ESPN2 will televise a special one-hour SportsCenter from Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 4 p.m. ET, the eve of NASCAR’s season-opening Daytona 500. Allen Bestwick will host SportsCenter at Daytona with analysts Rusty Wallace, Ray Evernham and Brad Daugherty previewing the Great American Race.
NASCAR Now, ESPN2’s news and information show dedicated to NASCAR coverage, will originate from Daytona with daily one-hour episodes this week. Bestwick will host programs airing Thursday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 14, at 9 a.m. Nicole Briscoe will serve as host Friday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. The weekly roundtable discussion Monday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m., will include analysts Wallace, Evernham and Ricky Craven with host Bestwick.

ESPN’s third annual “February Frenzy” initiative that features games Sunday and Monday on ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN360.com, including six regionalized games within two telecast windows Sunday and two Big Monday games featuring four Top 25 teams, making for two of the biggest days of basketball in the women’s college basketball regular season. Highlights:
- Two Top 25 teams kick off February Frenzy as No. 13 Georgetown squares off with No. 8 West Virginia on Sunday, Feb. 14 on ESPNU and ESPN360.com.
- No. 3 Notre Dame hosts DePaul in a regionalized matchup Sunday, Feb. 14, at 3 p.m. on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com.
- In an SEC showdown of two ranked teams, No. 16 Kentucky takes on No. 22 Vanderbilt on Sunday, Feb.14, at 6 p.m. on ESPNU and ESPN360.com.
- Big Monday features four ranked teams with No. 20 North Carolina at No. 21 Virginia, at 7 p.m. and reigning national champion and No. 1 Connecticut at No. 12 Oklahoma, both on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com, at 9 p.m.
- ESPN analysts Kara Lawson and Carolyn Peck will provide in-depth coverage and analysis from the studio in Bristol, Conn., throughout February Frenzy.

ESPN’s men’s college basketball schedule for early next week will include the conclusion of Rivalry Week Presented by Cisco on Monday, Feb. 15. The last day of Rivalry Week will be highlighted by an ESPN doubleheader involving two top-five teams -- No. 5 Villanova against Connecticut at 7 p.m., followed by No. 1 Kansas at Texas A&M at 9 p.m. An ESPN doubleheader Tuesday, Feb. 16, will include two teams in the top 10 -- No. 10 Michigan State at Indiana at 7 p.m. followed by No. 2 Kentucky at Mississippi State at 9 p.m.

ESPN Friday Night Fights Highlighted by Buster Douglas in Studio

This week’s main event on ESPN Friday Night Fights -- Feb. 12, starting at 10 p.m. on ESPN2 – will include a 12-round junior lightweight bout between South Korea’s Ji-Hoon Kim (19-5, 16 KOs) and Tyrone Harris of Lansing, Mich. Kim is ranked No. 12 among IBF competitors, with an impressive 11-match victory streak. The fight, along with the undercard, will originate from Temecula, Calif.
Joe Tessitore, who recently received the Sam Taub Award for Broadcasting Excellence, will call the action ringside with analyst Teddy Atlas. Former undisputed heavyweight champion James “Buster” Douglas will join host Brian Kenny in the studio. Douglas will discuss relevant boxing issues with Kenny during breaks in action. Boxing fans can own select fights from Mike Tyson’s storied career, including Douglas’ legendary upset of Tyson, by visiting www.itunes.com/espn.
In addition to Douglas’ appearance on ESPN Friday Night Fights, he will visit multiple ESPN programs, including ESPNEWS at 2:40 p.m. and SportsNation on Thursday, Feb. 11. The following day, Douglas will join ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning at 9:25 a.m. (simulcast on ESPN2) and the 6 p.m. SportsCenter.
'Mel and Todd’s NFL Draft Lab’ Begins Monday

ESPN NFL Draft experts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay will assess NFL Draft prospects in advance of the NFL Combine, Monday, Feb. 15, through Saturday, Feb. 20, in “Mel and Todd’s NFL Draft Lab,” which will air during the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. editions of SportsCenter. Each day, Mel and Todd will present the players who have the biggest upside, are the biggest risks and the players who are under the radar. On Monday, the two will talk quarterbacks, Tuesday, running backs, Wednesday, wide receivers and tight ends, Thursday, in the trenches (offensive and defensive linemen), Friday, the back seven (linebackers and defensive backs) and Saturday, the final analysis (players rated regardless of position). Each segment will include a Draft “compression” with draft orders and other nuggets for viewers to digest.
Reporters Bob Holtzman and George Smith will anchor ESPN’s 2010 Vancouver Olympics on-site coverage starting tomorrow (February 11). Throughout the games, ESPN’s networks will present daily highlights, athlete reaction and news updates, with more comprehensive coverage starting noon weekdays and 11 a.m. weekends (The Games are taking place Pacific Time).
The Bottom Line will run results of all medal winners immediately after each event, all hockey results, short program results for singles/pairs figure skating and qualifying results by notable athletes. It will also show the top finishes by U.S. athletes in each event if they make the finals but do not medal. Additionally, the Bottom Line will run score alerts every 10 minutes of game time, and alerts after each goal, during U.S.A. and Canada men’s hockey games and medal round alerts during their women’s games.
ESPN’s hockey experts Barry Melrose (February 16-21) and Matthew Barnaby (February 23-28) will provide insight from Bristol, Conn.
PBA USBC Masters Sunday on ESPN

The PBA USBC Masters will air Sunday, Feb. 14, at 3 p.m. on ESPN from the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev. The tournament began Tuesday, Feb. 9 with the top 63 players advancing to Thursday’s final match play including defending champion John Nolen.
