Coordinating Producer
Coordinating producer Jamie Horowitz oversees the production of SportsNation, ESPN2’s studio show that airs live on weekdays at 4 p.m. ET, and Winner’s Bracket, an off-shoot of SportsNation that airs on ABC every Saturday at 5 p.m. In 2011, he added ESPN2’s weekday morning show, First Take, to his oversight, and he is also the coordinating producer of ESPN’s World Series of Poker productions.
Horowitz joined ESPN in 2006 as a senior producer on ESPN Original Entertainment (now ESPN Content Development) programming. He was promoted to coordinating producer in the studio and event production department in 2009. He was a co-creator of both SportsNation (in 2009) and Winner’s Bracket (in 2010) and is responsible for hiring all production and talent, developing an overall vision for the brand and finding the most successful team to execute it.
Horowitz supervises ESPN’s poker production, including both the World Series of Poker and World Series of Poker Europe, which he has done since 2006, when he first joined ESPN. In 2009, 2010 and 2011 ESPN’s coverage of the WSOP has been nominated for a Sports Emmy Award in the Live Event Turnaround category.
Before joining ESPN, Horowitz worked at NBC Sports, where he created, developed and produced The National Heads-Up Poker Championship. He first joined NBC Sports as a researcher for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
A Boston native, Horowitz graduated magna cum laude in 1998 from Amherst College in Amherst, Mass. He is a four-time Sports Emmy winner for his work on NBC’s coverage of the 2000 Summer Olympics and 2002 Winter Olympics, as well as his work on the NBA on NBC.
